Hazards & Risks Associated with the Activity


1. Physical and Health Injury

Response, Precautions and Control Measures


1. Wear a Safety Helmet Safety Shoes, Safety

2. Gloves, Safety Glass and visibility vest

3. Check materials and tools before commencing work

4. Conduct housekeeping before and after work, and dispose of waste separately regularly.

5. The material should be stored and segregated, ensuring access/egress route.

6. All ladders should be inspected regularly with appropriate colour coding. Routine check must be done by THE user before use. All ladders should be secured or someone must hold them while in use. Use inspected and tagged scaffolding platform if necessary, and wear Full Body Harness 100% tied off.

7. In an open elevated area.

8. Using any crane needs an appropriate lifting permit. Certified operator and rigger, checklist of inspection daily provision of lifting gear and crane certificate. Determine the load to be lifted.

9. Manual handling should be done with the body system if the load to be lifted is loose or heavy. Check the pathway during hauling.

10. Barricade the area with appropriate signage.

11. All materials should be segregated properly providing a proper access /egress route.

12. All power tools should be inspected and color-coded. All operators should attend trainings/seminars, Do not exert too much pressure on the abrasive wheel. Provision of shielding to prevent Striking of lying object


Details, Comments and Notes


1. To be checked by the FM Supervisor to commence work.

2. All personnel involved in this activity must attend the STARRT Talk ensuring they signed in the attendance sheet. The FM Supervisor should explain in detail the hazards and all corrective measures to prevent accidents.

3. FM Supervisor to check before commencing work

4. The engineer must ensure that the ladder is inspected and colour-coded before use.

5. All scaffolds should be erected under the supervision of a competent scaffolding supervisor and be checked by a competent inspector.

6. The engineer should ensure this permit and requirements before the start of work. The engineer should determine the load and coordinate with the rigger/ operator.

7. FM Supervisor to monitor from time to time and should be discussed during STAART talk

8. FM Supervisor to check before commencing work.

9. The engineer should ensure this procedure/requirements.
