1. Hazards & Risks
Lifting fall hazard stuck by. or hit by materials, back injuries.
Material Storage, Tripping/Slipping Hazard.
Power tools-Struck by or hit by bursting of the disk.
2. Response, Precautions and Measures
A. Wear a safety helmet, safety shoes, safety gloves, Safety glass, and visibility vest Check materials and tools before commencing work. Conduct housekeeping before and after work. Disposed of waste separately regularly.
B. Materials should be stored and segregated properly, ensure having access/egress route. Using any crane needs an appropriate lifting permit, a certified operator and rigger, a checklist of inspection daily, provision of lifting gear, and a crane certificate. Determine the load to be lifted. Using a Telehandler or forklift ensure the equipment is inspected and the operator and bank man is certified. Check the capacity, the ground condition, the gear to be used, the pathways, and the destination assuring that all is well planned. Manual handling should be done with the body system if the load to be lifted is long and or heavy. Check the pathway during handling. Barricade the area with appropriate signage.
C. All materials should be segregated properly providing proper access/egress route.
D. All power tools should be inspected and color-coded. All operoperatorsator should attend training/seminars. Do not exert too much pressure on the abrasive wheel, provide shielding to prevent the striking of flying objects. Secure it with a permit if necessary
Additional Controls, Details, and Comments:
To be checked by the FM/MEP supervisor to commence workAll personnel involved in this activity must attend the STARRT talk ensuring they signed the attendance sheet. The FM/MEP engineer/supervisor should explain in detail the hazard and its corrective measures to prevent accidents/incidents and or even near-miss occurrences.
FM/MEP Supervisor should ensure the permit and necessary requirements before the start of work.
The engineer should determine the load and coordinate with the rigger/ operator.
The engineer to ensure and recheck the condition.
The FM/MEP supervisor is to monitor from time to time and this should be discussed during STARRT talk.
FM/MEP supervisor to check before commencing work.
The engineer should ensure this procedure/requirements
