RISK ASSESSMENT FOR INSTALLATION OF HOT & COLD WATER (PPR) PIPING

Activity-1

Mobilization of PPR Pipes to the Site 


Hazards

Traffic Vehicles & Plant


Controls Measures

  • Toolbox talk conducted before starting the job
  • Used appropriate PPE including safety shoes.
  • Always carry materials near the body
  • Keep arms width apart: Bend the knees & keep the back straight at all times when carrying the materials
  • Avoid twisting & jerking the body while carrying the materials
  • Careful handling of fragile items
  • The maximum weight to be carried should not exceed more than 25kg in normal conditions.

Unloading of materials from vehicle by manually

Falling of materials from Truck while unloading

  • Select proper tools suitable for specified job.
  • Check operating conditions of hand/power tools prior to start the job & should be color coded by competent person
  • Damaged tools shall be removed from the use and tagged to "" do not use""
  • Inspect the power cords for damaged, damaged cords removed from the job
  • Disconnect the power tools when not in use
  • Appropriate PPE should be used"


Activity-4

Installation of PPR pipes and fittings 


Hazard

Height Work-peoples Materials Falling from Ladder or Scaffold That May Cause Injury or Fatal


Controls Measures

  • Toolbox talk conducted prior to start the job
  • A work permit must be received prior to start the height work.
  • Ensure that scaffold or ladder are good condition before climb.
  • Proper access should be provided & damaged or home mad ladder.
  • Adequate guard rails should be provided.
  • The working platform should be clean
  • Safety harness shall hook to the trusses in such a manner as tube able to arrest his fatal and tie off 100% at height during all works.
  • Competent supervisor should be on working area at all times."
