- High-speed flying particles.
- Inhaling dust or fumes.
- Kickback, fires & explosions,
- Electrical shock.
- Cuts & abrasions.
- Noise.
- Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs)-repetitive motion & awkward work positions.
Safe Work Procedure Checklist points
1-Pre-Operation Task:
- Task (e.g., Drawings, instructions, specifications etc.) is readily available and understood.
- Ensure the appropriate grinder disc is accurately in place.
- Ensure the workpiece is securely clamped.
- Ensure appropriate guarding is in place on the grinder.
- Identify the ON/OFF switch.
2-Operation Task:
- Check and verify that the grinder disc runs 'TRUE' and does not wobble.
- Keep hands clear of the workpiece and away from the disc.
- Tum off grinder at power Point before changing the disc.
- Ensure guarding is in place before re-starting the grinder.
- Make sure that the machines have been isolated from power sources before being cleaned, adjusted, maintained and or repaired.
3- Post-Operation Task:
- Switch off /disconnect the grinder before removing waste material or dust from the bench.
- Ensure the disc is still in good condition before putting away.
