1.0. Introduction:
This Method Statement describes in detail the scope of work involved in Civil maintenance works.
2.0. Objective:
The Purpose/Objective of this Method Statement (MST) is to apparently understand the work/job/task and step-by-step procedures of the execution of the work/job/task along with health and safety precautions and necessary measures to avoid any type of severe and critical injuries/accidents to a workforce/employee/personal or any financial damage (to any equipment or property). The list of mandatory required equipment/material/ machinery/devices is also written/mentioned in this Method Statement.
3.0. Scope of Work:
The scope of this work includes
Building and Civil Maintenance Works.
- Deep/Minor Excavation, backfilling processes, and earthwork manually mechanically,
- Concrete Block (CB) & Masonry Work (MW) in new work activity/task and repair work,
- Concrete work including plain.
- Reinforced work including new work and repair work,
- Ceiling work,
- Carpentry works new and repair work,
- Glasswork replacement repair,
- Rendering and plastering new and repair work,
- Tiling work new and repair work,
- Painting works new or touches up,
- Sealing work,
- Doors, windows and ironmongeries and partition walls,
- Aluminum cladding and roofing and translucent panels,
- Steel structures and collision barriers for steel structures as and when required.
- Asphalt pavement, road repair, or reinstatement work activities due to ground settlement or condition associated when is rupture or breakage of Underground piping.
- Steel Crash Barrier (SCB) Maintenance/modification as and when needed.
- Traffic signage/sign board reinstatement or new installation as and when required.
- Car Park/car park’s tarpaulin repair as and when required.
- Fence structure and heavy gate repair/maintenance/upgrade as and when needed.
- Repair/maintenance or supply of furniture as and when needed.
Plumbing Maintenance Works:
- Repair and fixation of the pressure switch,
- Repair and fixation of the floating valve system,
- Repair of the limit switch for water tank reservoirs,
- Repair, maintenance, and water tank fittings.
- Repair and fixation of water heaters,
- Repair and fixation for piping networks.
Drainage Maintenance Works:
- Repair and fixation of toilet flushing system,
- Repair and fixation of washbasin flushing system,
- Repairing the water tank’s leak from inside the wall pipe joints.
- De-clogging works for the pipeline.
- Cleaning of the open canal,
Sanitary Wares Maintenance Works:
- Pasting silicone (if water leaks from the toilet, or kitchen washbasin)
- Fitting washbasin Washroom set and flush tank (If damaged),
- Drainage flushing (If water block),
- Replace sanitary fittings,
- Replace kitchen sink fittings (If the water leak or fittings are broken)
Carpentry Maintenance Works:
- Repair and fixation of office furniture,
- Repair and fixation of door towel bolts,
- Repair and fixation of door furniture including hinges, locks, and door closers,
- Replacement and fixation of kitchen cabinet accessories.
- Repair and fixation of the staircase railing.
Painting Maintenance Works:
- Touch-up paints and painting work,
- Waterproofing paints for (MDF) kitchen cabinet,
- Polishing of furniture upon request.

5.0. Organization & Responsibility:
[Organization/Company/Contractor] Manager Projects shall be responsible for an overall project inclusive ensuring that all safety measures are implemented.
[Organization/Company/Contractor] Civil Engineer shall be responsible for the coordination and supervision of day-to-day site activities and ensure that work is done as per specification and approved drawings and that all safety measures are implemented.
Site Engineer/Supervisor:
The site engineer must organize the workforce in a manner and ensure that safety and protective equipment are being properly utilized. He shall also ensure that the method statement procedure is followed to prevent loss or damage to the existing assists of the work area.
Safety Engineer / Officer:
The Safety Manager/Engineer/Officer is accountable for the plan and implementation of Health, safety, and environmental programs and plans to secure, and protect, the health and safety of all workforce/employees. He is accountable for the implementation of the health, safety, and environmental programs within the organization/company.
He is also responsible to provide support to site engineers, advising them on safe work procedures and coordinating with maximum efficiency, and minimizing the risk to themselves and their equipment. Make a comprehensive and careful inspection of the equipment, tools, device, and or machinery before use to make sure correct storage and appropriate and necessary utilization.

6.0. Equipment & Materials:
The following equipment/devices/tools will be carried out for the work undertaking:
- Measuring equipment
- Standard hand tools
- Standard Carpentry tools & equipment
- Portable power tools
- Standard Electrical Tools & equipment
7.0. Reference Documents:
- Drawings and scopes attached
8.0. Methodology:
- All the materials/substances/chemicals shall be submitted for [Organization/Company/Contractor] approval before work.
- Necessary shop drawings will be submitted to [Organization/Company/Contractor] before work if applicable.
- The work shall be carried out using proper PTW and necessary isolation shall be obtained by coordinating with [Organization/Company/Contractor].
- Final Inspection shall be conducted after the accomplishment of all civil maintenance works.
Civil Maintenance Works:
Necessary permits (as applicable) shall be obtained before commencing any work such as building and civil works, plumbing maintenance works, drainage maintenance works, sanitary wares maintenance works, carpentry maintenance works, and painting maintenance works.
9.0. Health, Safety, and Environment:
- PTW (Permit TO work)
- A relevant permit needs to be obtained before starting the work
- Safety Toolbox Meetings to be conducted before work
- Toolbox talks (TBTs) are to be conducted & attended by all personnel assigned to do the task/work activity.
- Hazard analysis to be done.
- Safety personnel & designated responsible person will ensure that all above is carried out & any other statutory requirements are completed before any work takes

- Hard hat
- Safety shoe
- Safety goggles
- Hand gloves
- High visibilities vest
- Dust mask
- Safety harness
