Purpose of the Method of Statement
The Objective of this Method Statement is to describe the steps involved in gypsum board installation to the wall as drywall and partition all following approved shop drawings, ensuring safety, perfection and durability.
Description of Work
- The work is regarding the wall partition and drywall, as well as false columns and other design, explained in the work plan as to cover the ceiling with the required and recommended dimension, elevations and levelness all as per the shop drawings.
- Proper Standard material required for the installation of gypsum wall includes the required wall studs and blind rivets that will fasten to the concrete wall or bare wall. With enough black screw to tighten the gypsum board to the steel framing lay according to the layout specified.
Delivery, Storage and Handling
- To reduce the risk of damage, plasterboard should be delivered to the site just before installation.
- While handling and storage, Gypsum sheets should be transported in an ‘upright’ position with particular care taken to protect the edges from any damage.
- Plasterboard should be kept in tidy, balanced stacks off the ground/floor in a damp-free covered area. This will prevent sliding and minimize deterioration to board edges and surfaces.
Installation
- Before installing plasterboard, a building should be thoroughly checked to ensure that the framing is plumb, level and square other trades have finished their ‘rough-ins’.
- The spacing of studs, battens take into consideration the spacing required by the linings given in the Frame Spacing table. When the installation is accomplished, the plasterboard will comply with the recommended level of finish.
- Before installing plasterboard, a building should be thoroughly checked to ensure that the framing is plumb, level and square other trades have finished their ‘rough-ins’.
- Before fixing plasterboard to steel framing, check that the framing has been assembled and erected following the manufacturer’s instructions. All contact surfaces of the steel frame are dry, tidy and free from contamination such as oil, grease and dirt.
- Steel furring channels are fixed at right angles to the underside of joists utilizing clips or fasteners.
- Anchor clips for false ceiling installation are used to fix steel furring to a concrete slab ceiling. Furring channels should be spaced as per the sheet thickness given in the Frame Spacing.
- Carefully plan the installation. Sheets should be set out to ensure the best coverage and to minimize butt joints and waste. Plasterboard is normally applied horizontally in residential construction and is very important if a Level of Finish of 3, 4, or 5 is recommended. However, the sheeting may be fixed vertically if it is to cover the whole wall.
Provision of the Control Joints in Walls and Ceilings at:
- Maximum of 12 meters intervals in both directions
- Every change of material
- 0ver control joints in the substrate
- Every change of substrate material.
- Plasterboard Should be adjusted to the Substrate Using One of the Following Systems:
- Combination adhesive and fastener.
- Screw fixed only.
- Nail fixed only.
A variety of trimming exist for finishing corners, edges and joints of plasterboard to create neat sharp lines, minimize cracking and to offer a higher level of impact resistance. trimming of plasterboards may be adjusted with nails, staples or with cornice adhesive and then stopped and accomplished with the normal 3-coat system.
A Shadow Line Effect is Required Such as:
- Plasterboard and masonry wall junctions
- Ceiling and wall junctions
- Door and window jambs.
Supervision
Installation is to be carried out by the experienced and competent installer who has expertise inboard installation. They are accompanied by unskilled assistants. Supervisor. Site Project Engineer/Architects will be available for coordination and communication with other stakeholders such as sub-contractors and Main Contractor, third parties and also look into the technical aspects.
Machinery and Tools to be Used:
- Wall studs,
- Connecting Clip,
- Blind Rivets

- Steel Framing.
- Shadow Line (SL),
- Corner Bead (CB),
- Casing Bead.
- Gypsum Putty and Wire mesh tape
- Screw Gun.

Safety Procedures
- All Occupational Health, Safety & Environment norms will be adhered to strictly.
- All the workforce will comply with the organization’s occupational health and safety compliance policy by wearing proper and recommended overalls, safety shoes, goggles, hand gloves and helmets. Enough provision of lighting and ventilation will be ensured during the installation work.
- It will be ensured that the machinery and tools used are safe and always in good condition. Where applicable only calibrated tools will be used
- Proper markings will be made on the wall by setting plumb to highlight the exact areas

Clear shades can make a hallucination of room, while hazier shades can make a more refined air. In case you are focusing on a laid-back air pick delicate or 'cool' tones like shades of blue, green and violet. Munster painting contractor
