This Swing Gate Risk Assessment (SGRA) will help you as guidance note. For the Particular purpose, you must add your own additional comments. This RA does not, nor is it intended to cover all and every risk associated with an automatic gate system. It is the installers responsibility to identify, assess and inform the client of any possible risks of physical injury either real or perceived. This Risk Assessment Form, should be filled-in signed and a copy handed to the client.

- Gate, Leading Edge: - Risk of Trapping or Crushing to be tested by Dynamic Impact Meter.
- Hinge Area: - Risk of Crushing, Trapping or Cutting. Variable gaps of less than 25 mm between fixed and moving parts must be protected.
- Gate Operators. Variable gaps. The distance between gate leaf and operator should be 25 mm or more.
- Below Gate Frame: - Potential Foot Trap. Variable gaps under gate of more than 25-mm must be secured.
- Gate Design: - Risk of Trapping, Crushing or Cutting. Make alteration or protect components of the gate leaf that due to their shape or position may cause a hazard.
- Space between Gate and Post/Pier. Variable gap between fixed and moving parts. To be tested by dynamic Impact Meter.
- Space between Gate and Wall/Fixed Object: Variable Gap between fixed and moving parts to be tested by Dynamic Impact Meter.
- Ground Stops. Trip Hazard.
- Gate Travel Area: Reduce the possibility of impact by using or installing latest protective devices.
