The following questions will be added in the checklist to prepare and use the Hazardous Substances Information for Regulations Provision Checklist mechanism:
- Is there a written policy on the provision of information in the workplace?
- Have all hazardous substances in the workplace been identified?
- Does a written policy exist that ensures SDS are obtained for all products?
- Are products purchased or otherwise brought into the workplace checked for approved uses and safe handling procedures?
- Are there procedures in place for dealing with a substandard SDS?
- Are there procedures in place for labeling containers into which a substance is decanted and not consumed immediately?
- Does a register of all hazardous substances in the workplace exist?
- Are the hazardous substances register subject to periodic, and at least annual, review?
- Do all workers know where the hazardous substances register is located?
- Are the hazardous substances register used in emergency planning activities?
