The following questions will be added in the checklist to prepare and use the Hazard Substances Monitoring Strategy Checklist mechanism:
- Has the workplace assessment process identified that workplace monitoring is not required? If the answer is yes, record this decision and do not proceed further.
- If the answer to question 1 is no, has a workplace monitoring policy been developed?
- Have the hazardous substances, processes or situations that are required to be monitored been identified?
- Have sufficient resources (including budgetary resources) been allocated to allow monitoring to be conducted properly?
- Is a suitably qualified person conducting the monitoring?
- Have the types of monitoring required (eg. grab, static, personal), the sample procedures and analytical methods been identified?
- Has the number of samples required been determined to ensure that representative exposure can be estimated?
- Are procedures in place to allow the implementation of the outcomes and recommendations stemming from monitoring?
- Are procedures in place for the recording of workplace monitoring?
- Are aspects of workplace monitoring for hazardous substances subject to regular review?
